Flora Hansen calls herself a medium and makes a living by pretending to commune with the dead. But after a gruesome murder at a rural home for wayward girls, Hansen begins to suffer visions that are all too real. She calls the police, claiming to have seen a ghost, but only one detective puts aside his skepticism long enough to listen: Joona Linna.

Linna has spent more time at the scene of the crime than any other detective would. The case seems obvious on the face of it: One of the girls at the home escaped in the middle of the night, leaving behind a bloody bed with a hammer under the pillow. But why does Hansen insist that the murder instrument was a stone, not a hammer? And what’s the story behind the dark red grain of sand, almost like a splinter from a ruby, stuck beneath the dead girl’s fingernail? As Linna refuses to accept easy answers, his search leads him into darker, more violent territory, and finally to a shocking confrontation with a figure from his past.

Just as Lars Kepler’s The Hypnotist and The Nightmare did, The Fire Witness has spent months at number one on the Swedish bestseller lists. As the newspaper Dagens Nyheter put it, you start the thriller “on the subway home, keep reading at the dinner table, and then don’t stop until well into the wee hours.” Kepler writes with the force of Stieg Larsson and the plotting of Jo Nesbø. The Fire Witness is an unflinching page-turner, sure to join the ranks of its predecessors as an international sensation.

Hello everyone! I don’t know if any of you play Planet Zoo but I’ve been loving it! And dang ain’t the Arctic pack amazing. How fitting for this time of the year. Almost got late to work tomorrow morning because I just had to check that out.

Anyway, today I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite Christmas books. This list will be rather short. I don’t read that many books based on seasons and such and well, since I mostly read fantasy, it’s not really a thing in fantasy, if you know what I’m trying to say here. 🙈

Only six days until Christmas! How long can one keep Christmas decorations up before it gets weird? I’m not ready to let go of all the different lights and gnomes we have here. 😀

Today I’m bringing you a Christmas book tag. I thought I had done this before but couldn’t find it. So I guess I have read someone else’s post last year then. The original tag is made by booktuber GirlReading!

It’s blogmas day 5 and 16th of December! Today I will be sharing with you some hyped books that I won’t be reading. Of course I can’t say never but it’s pretty likely I won’t ever pick these up.

When a book gets a lot of hype even before it’s published and sometimes even more after that, it eats some of my desire to read them. Usually I get so into the hype that I just don’t want to pick up the book anymore because my expectations are so high and I don’t want to be disappointed. When a hyped book turns out to be something completely opposite for me, it starts to drag me towards reading slump.

Disclaimer: I do not mean that these books will be bad or anything. It’s only me and my brain that just whispers “don’t read it, you won’t get on the hype train anyway after that”.

Good day everyone! It’s blogmas day 2 for me but we have already reached day 12 of December. My, oh my, how time flies.

Today I bring you five of my favorite Christmas movies. These are the ones that I watch every year. With or without my kids (yeah, they don’t share my taste of movies).
I’m going to put them in order from 5 to one, one being my ultimate favorite.

I know, I know! Blogmas is supposed to be started at December 1st and it’s already day 11. I’m late as always but I will also be breaking the rules otherwise and I’ll keep this going until the 31st!

I’ve been gone for so long because of all the other things keeping me extra busy and tired that I wanted to come back with something I’ve not done before. SO now you will be having 21 days of posts from me.

Hello, I’m Hanna and I’m finally here

I can’t remember if I ever told here that we are moving and we have to do some renovating as well. But that’s what I’ve been up to!

Let me tell you that it is not easy to do that when you have three kids running around all the time. But now our bedroom + our youngest ones bedroom are done and the stairs and every hallway has been painted as well. There’s still lots to do but now we want to settle down for Christmas.

We did everything mostly by ourselves. The painting, new floors, walls etc. But my dad did the roof in our bedroom as well as put all the moldings.

Darn this has been stressful and we’ve all been so tired and irritated that I’m glad it’s finally done. But since we stayed together through all this, is it safe to say that we’ll stick together? 😁

I’ve been trying to read Tower of Dawn during all this but haven’t made much progress. I’m on page 222 of the ebook so it’s basically nothing.

Now everything is kind of settled and every furniture and all are at their own places. So now I finally have time to read! And I’m not that tired anymore, which means that I can actually get some reading done and I do not fall asleep.

I also wanna thank each and everyone of you who have stayed here! And also every one of you new ones! I have been shocked every time my phone has given me the notification about new followers. It’s been inactive for so long! But thank you! ♥️ This means a lot.

That’s me awkwardly waving to y’all! It’s been 2 months since my last post here, 3 since I last finished a book…. But I fell into the biggest slump of my life. I had so much stress with school, work and kids being sick all the time that I just didn’t feel like doing anything. Getting up from bed was struggle.

So I just had to cut some slack for myself and stop trying so hard. I can’t read books as fast as others, it takes time for me to finish. And I had to truly let that sink in and stop taking pressure about it. Then I had to cut down my work hours. Which meant that I had to stop taking it to home. If one of our horses got sick, I took it too harshly and kept going it over and over in my head at home “was it my fault? did I do something wrong? could I have prevented it?” etc.

Kids are still sick all the time but that turned out to be because they are all as allergic to pollen as I am.

So. I’m slowly getting back here. I want to read something but I want to start with something light and easy and fast to read. Not Tower of Dawn. 😀 Have any recommendations for me?

I hope you have all been doing great!
