I MADE IT A CHORE, AGAIN

Hello every lovely human out there!

Aa some of you might have noticed, i’ve been gone for a ridiculously long time. I have said many times that I’m coming back, but never did that. Why?

Well. I did it again. Apparently I didn’t learn anything from last year nor the ole before that. I made reading a chore, again.. 🙄 I pushed myself to read books i’ve listed on my challenges to the point when i couldn’t even bare to look at my shelves without feeling like a failure.. why? For not completing my challenges, not finishing books fast enough.

So I just dropped everything then. I’ve been working full time and now I have my summer leave of one week, alone all my three kids. But! I have finally picked up a book!! I got rid of every spreadsheet I made for this years reading and now I’m just reading whatever the heck I feel like reading, trying not to care if it fits to any prompts or not.

I want to also thank every one of you lovely humans who have stuck here with me even though i haven’t been active at all. And all of you new lovely humans who have joined here even though I haven’t made a single post! ♥️

Also, i think i made a mistake ordering that Fae Crate back in March……. Still haven’t received the box. Maybe before christmas?

UPDATE

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to drop by and give a little update for you all. I have been gone for a long time now. And I’m still not on the right place to come back. I have been reading your posts though.

My little brother has had a cancer for a year now. He was once on a stage where it stopped spreading and he didn’t need any treatnents. But now during the last months it has spread all over his body. There’s nothing they can do to it anymore so now all we can do is wait and pray that he doesn’t have to suffer much longer.

Even though he is my stepdad’s son and not really related, he has been my baby brother since he was one year old. He’s now a little over 20 and on top of it all, he is also very mentally disabled (i don’t even know id that’s the right way to put it on english) He has always come to me when someone bullied him or there were anything he needed help with. It just feels so unfair! I’d take his place any day If there was a way for me to do that.

So i havent been in the right mind to do anything book related. I can’t concentrate enough to do that. I feel so bad to have my inbox full of review requests that come daily. But i have to prioritize myself now, i do have three kids to take cafe of as well, after all. But just know that I’ll be back 100% whenever I’m ready.

BLOGMAS 2019 : REVIEW / THE FIRE WITNESS

16059432

TITLE: The Fire Witness
AUTHOR: Lars Kepler
SERIES: Joona Linna #3
GENRES: Mystery, Thriller
FORMAT: Finnish Hardback
PAGES: 594
PUBLISHED: 2012
PUBLISHER: Tammi

Amazon|Book Depository|Goodreads

Flora Hansen calls herself a medium and makes a living by pretending to commune with the dead. But after a gruesome murder at a rural home for wayward girls, Hansen begins to suffer visions that are all too real. She calls the police, claiming to have seen a ghost, but only one detective puts aside his skepticism long enough to listen: Joona Linna.

Linna has spent more time at the scene of the crime than any other detective would. The case seems obvious on the face of it: One of the girls at the home escaped in the middle of the night, leaving behind a bloody bed with a hammer under the pillow. But why does Hansen insist that the murder instrument was a stone, not a hammer? And what’s the story behind the dark red grain of sand, almost like a splinter from a ruby, stuck beneath the dead girl’s fingernail? As Linna refuses to accept easy answers, his search leads him into darker, more violent territory, and finally to a shocking confrontation with a figure from his past.

Just as Lars Kepler’s The Hypnotist and The Nightmare did, The Fire Witness has spent months at number one on the Swedish bestseller lists. As the newspaper Dagens Nyheter put it, you start the thriller “on the subway home, keep reading at the dinner table, and then don’t stop until well into the wee hours.” Kepler writes with the force of Stieg Larsson and the plotting of Jo Nesbø. The Fire Witness is an unflinching page-turner, sure to join the ranks of its predecessors as an international sensation.

BLOGMAS 2019 : FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BOOKS

blogmas

Hello everyone! I don’t know if any of you play Planet Zoo but I’ve been loving it! And dang ain’t the Arctic pack amazing. How fitting for this time of the year. Almost got late to work tomorrow morning because I just had to check that out.

Anyway, today I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite Christmas books. This list will be rather short. I don’t read that many books based on seasons and such and well, since I mostly read fantasy, it’s not really a thing in fantasy, if you know what I’m trying to say here. 🙈

BLOGMAS 2019 : HYPED BOOKS I WON’T READ

blogmas

It’s blogmas day 5 and 16th of December! Today I will be sharing with you some hyped books that I won’t be reading. Of course I can’t say never but it’s pretty likely I won’t ever pick these up.

When a book gets a lot of hype even before it’s published and sometimes even more after that, it eats some of my desire to read them. Usually I get so into the hype that I just don’t want to pick up the book anymore because my expectations are so high and I don’t want to be disappointed. When a hyped book turns out to be something completely opposite for me, it starts to drag me towards reading slump.

Disclaimer: I do not mean that these books will be bad or anything. It’s only me and my brain that just whispers “don’t read it, you won’t get on the hype train anyway after that”.
