Hey guys! I’m pretty sure I didn’t do this last year but this year I am indeed going to make posts of my favorite, worst and most anticipated books. And today we are starting with my most anticipated books being published in 2019.

There will be couple books I’ve already requested from Netgalley as ARCs and then there are couple that I have no chances to get any ARCs and will be waiting the release like it’s my life.

TITLE: Romanov
AUTHOR: Nadine Brandes
GENRE: Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Retelling, Young Adult
PUBLISHER: Thomas Nelson

“The history books say I died.

They don’t know the half of it.

Anastasia “Nastya” Romanov was given a single mission: to smuggle an ancient spell into her suitcase on her way to exile in Siberia. It might be her family’s only salvation. But the leader of the Bolshevik army is after them . . . and he’s hunted Romanov before.

Nastya’s only chances of survival are to either release the spell, and deal with the consequences, or enlist help from Zash, the handsome soldier who doesn’t act like the average Bolshevik. Nastya’s never dabbled in magic before, but it doesn’t frighten her as much as her growing attraction for Zash. She likes him. She thinks he might even like her . . .

That is, until she’s on one side of a firing squad . . . and he’s on the other.”

I read Fawkes which is written by Nadine as well and really liked it. But after I read this synopsis, I’m just 100% certain that I will love this book. I mean isn’t it intriguing!? Also, I did put up a request for this one because I’m just that excited.

TITLE: Aurora Rising
AUTHOR: Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
GENRE: Science Fiction, Young Adult
PUBLISHER: Knopf Books for Young Readers

From the internationally bestselling authors of THE ILLUMINAE FILES comes an epic new science fiction adventure.

The year is 2380, and the graduating cadets of Aurora Academy are being assigned their first missions. Star pupil Tyler Jones is ready to recruit the squad of his dreams, but his own boneheaded heroism sees him stuck with the dregs nobody else in the Academy would touch…

A cocky diplomat with a black belt in sarcasm
A sociopath scientist with a fondness for shooting her bunkmates
A smart-ass techwiz with the galaxy’s biggest chip on his shoulder
An alien warrior with anger management issues
A tomboy pilot who’s totally not into him, in case you were wondering

And Ty’s squad isn’t even his biggest problem—that’d be Aurora Jie-Lin O’Malley, the girl he’s just rescued from interdimensional space. Trapped in cryo-sleep for two centuries, Auri is a girl out of time and out of her depth. But she could be the catalyst that starts a war millions of years in the making, and Tyler’s squad of losers, discipline-cases and misfits might just be the last hope for the entire galaxy.

They’re not the heroes we deserve. They’re just the ones we could find. Nobodypanic.

It’s Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff! Who is not excited about this book?! I mean they already created one amazing trilogy so I’m expecting this to be great as well.

TITLE: The Orphan Sisters
AUTHOR: Shirley Dickson
GENRE: Historical Fiction
PUBLISHER: Bookouture

A heartbreaking, unputdownable and utterly unforgettable story of two young sisters cruelly abandoned by their mother at an orphanage. Fans of Wives of War, Lisa Wingate and Diney Costeloe will lose their hearts to this stunning World War Two novel.

1929: Four-year-old Etty and eight-year-old Dorothy are abandoned at Blakely Hall orphanage by their mother, never to see her again. With no other family to speak of, the sisters worship their beloved mam – confused and heartbroken to be deserted by her when they need her the most.

1940: Etty and Dorothy are finally released from the confines of Blakely Hall – but their freedom comes when the country is in the grip of World War Two and its terrors. Amidst a devastating backdrop of screaming air-raid sirens and cold nights huddled in shelters, the sisters are desperate to put their broken childhoods behind them.

But trouble lies ahead. Dorothy must bid goodbye to her beloved husband when he’s sent to war and Etty must nurse a broken heart as she falls in love with the one man she can never be with.

Etty and Dorothy survived the orphanage with the help of one another and neither sister can forget the awful betrayal of their mother, which has haunted them their whole lives. But when a shocking secret about their painful childhood comes to light, will the sisters ever be the same again?”

I’m a sucker for historical fiction. Especially ones that take place during WWII. So yes, I’m really anticipating this one and did also request it from Netgalley.

TITLE: Lovestruck
AUTHOR: Kate Watson
GENRE: Mythology, Fantasy, Young Adult

“Sixteen-year-old cupid-in-training Kali is in an Olympus-sized mountain of trouble. Rule number one in arrow-toting matchmaking: don’t stick yourself. But accidents happen, and Kali instantly falls hard for her indie rock, bass-playing target, Benicio.

The God of Love is going to kill her. Even if he is her dad.

Being the daughter of Eros isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. For one thing, a girl can get jaded when her parents have the most beautiful and fatalistic love story in history. For another, immortality royally sucks when the Oracle condemns you to eternity in the wrong profession. Do the Gods care that Kali wants to ditch the love stuff and be a muse?

To reclaim her heart and her destiny, Kali is left with no choice but to defy the Gods, tempt the Fates, date the mortal love-of-her-life, and hope she doesn’t lose her best friend, Hector, in the process.”

Mythology. Love. Eros. What more do you need? While scrolling through Netgalley, this synopsis really struck me with an arrow of love and I just need to read it. Like my TBR isn’t long enough already..

TITLE: King of Scars
AUTHOR: Leigh Bardugo
GENRE: Fantasy, Young Adult

“Nikolai Lantsov has always had a gift for the impossible. No one knows what he endured in his country’s bloody civil war—and he intends to keep it that way. Now, as enemies gather at his weakened borders, the young king must find a way to refill Ravka’s coffers, forge new alliances, and stop a rising threat to the once-great Grisha Army.

Yet with every day a dark magic within him grows stronger, threatening to destroy all he has built. With the help of a young monk and a legendary Grisha Squaller, Nikolai will journey to the places in Ravka where the deepest magic survives to vanquish the terrible legacy inside him. He will risk everything to save his country and himself. But some secrets aren’t meant to stay buried—and some wounds aren’t meant to heal.”

I have no idea if I need to read Shadow and Bone before this, okay? But this one is so hyped up that it has started to gain me in it too. And I liked SOC, though I did want something more out of that duo, so I was just thinking that I should give this one a chance.

And here you have my top 5 anticipated books for 2019!
What books you can’t wait to be released? Please share those with me down in the comments! 🙂
