TOP 5 TUESDAY (#29) : SCIENCE FICTION

ttt

Hi guys! How’s your week going so far? I got sunburned just because I forgot to put on sun lotion *sigh*. But if something good, I hopefully won’t forget again. Also only two more days and then it’s summer vacation for three months for me and my kids! Hubby only gets couple weeks but fingers crossed the kids get the memo to sleep late every morning 😀

Top 5 Tuesday is created and hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm and todays topic is top 5 science fiction! I don’t read that much science fiction but I’m stretching this a bit and going to throw in some dystopian books too, is that okay? Or do those count as science fiction too? I don’t really know and honestly (i’m ashamed a little) I don’t always understand these genres and how to decide which genre it actually belongs to. Now I’m going to go hide somewhere.

I guess this trilogy is no surprise to anyone. But I love this trilogy and the format it’s written in! The format was the main reason I ever actually picked up Illuminae and I would really love to have more books written in format that’s similar to this.

I remember really loving Mystic City and it was so hard to wait Toxic Heart to be published! I mean it took a whole TWO YEARS! Gosh I remember being super anxious because I just needed to get more. Then there was the third book coming out but it took yet again another two years.. So that’s when I actually dropped this from my tbr. I just didn’t feel like waiting for two years, again. And it actually came out as an audiobook only, I believe, and it never came available at our library so yeah. But I really enjoyed the first two books and was actually planning on rereading these two.

I really enjoyed Cinder and Fahrenheit 451. With both of these books I had some problems but otherwise those were really enjoyable.
Obsidian I loved! Or should I say I fell in love with Daemon? Sadly I only got the first two books from our library back in the day and haven’t yet bought them myself. I’m planning on doing that because I want to reread them and really finish this whole series.

P.S. I hope this post doesn’t come out looking super weird and the pictures are actually attached. I had some problems with wifi connection and as I’m writing this, it looks really weird and sometimes shows the pics and then suddenly it doesn’t. Fingers crossed that it works!
