TOP 5 TUESDAY (#24) : BOOKS I DIDN’T LIKE THAT OTHERS LOVED

ttt

Hi guys! How’s your week going so far? I’ve been sitting here for a while now and I honestly can’t figure anything to say. I’ve been out with my kids everyday since Saturday with other people and I’m exhausted. Socializing is not for me. So shall we?

Top 5 Tuesday is created and hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm and todays topic is top 5 books I didn’t like that others loved!

18143977

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
This book just wasn’t for me. I love historical fiction, that is my favorite genre beside fantasy. But I like fast paced books and this wasn’t one. That was the biggest issue with this book.

9361589

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I’m not saying I didn’t like this at all! But I didn’t love this as the majority seems to have loved it. I read this so long ago and I think my opinion on it might change if I’d re-read it but I remember being very confused and putting it down a lot.

I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
This book kind of fell into the meh category. It felt somewhat repetitive after the first message. Yes, there were different messages and all that, yet it still was kind of the same.

35715427

The Giver by Lois Lowry
It’s a classic and I probably should have liked it being different and all that. And I really liked the different world in it! But there were so many things that rubbed me in the wrong way that no, I didn’t like it.

17416065

Looking for Alaska by John Green
I think I had too high hopes for this one before reading it and that’s the biggest reason I was left disappointed. Then there’s also the fact that I didn’t connect with any of the characters and for me it is important to connect and like at least someone.
