BOOK TAG : Reading Habits

btrh

I hope you all are having nice time this Saturday!

I was roaming around Google and searching for different book tags to do on Saturdays and this one about reading habits caught my eye. This is pretty old tag since the post I found was from 2013 and I couldn’t even find the original video. But I believe that the maker of this tag was The BookJazz from youtube? Correct me if I’m wrong!

Anyway, here are the questions I’ll be answering this time:
1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
6. One book at a time or several at once?
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
8. Reading out lout or silently in your head?
9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
11. Do you write in your books?

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Usually my reading looks like that ^ but mainly because my daughter or son comes to knock down the book from my hand ๐Ÿ˜€ But yeah, mainly I get comfortable on our couch ’cause then I can seeย  what my kids are doing while reading.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Both. I did have like 100 bookmarks but every time something mysterious happens to those bookmarks and then I just crab some random paper to play as a bookmark.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter / a certain amount of pages?
Before I had kids, I always had to finish a chapter before I could stop reading. But now that I have kids, there’s no way I’m able to read a chapter before stopping if they have something to say or they need something etc. so I have had to just learn to stop whenever they come ๐Ÿ˜€

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
ron-eating-and-reading
Oh yes I do. Sometimes I read while having lunch, breakfast whatever and usually I have at least something to drink while reading. But now that I’m breastfeeding this little one, I’m hungry ALL. THE. TIME! And I have some snacks to have in hand pretty much 24 hours a day.

ย 5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
There’s almost all the time TV or music on in our apartment. So yeah, something is constantly playing on the background while I’m reading.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
I prefer reading only one book at a time because it’s easier to stay on track that way. But sometimes I might be reading e-book and physical book at the same time.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?
I take books with me where ever I go. So everywhere.

8. Reading out lout or silently in your head?
In my head. I bet everyone would be laughing at my pronunciation if I read out lout ๐Ÿ˜€

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

Okay, I’ll admit it, I do skip pages sometimes. But this happens quite rarely and only with book that I really don’t like and just want to finish. I’m not the only one, right?

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
breaking_book_spines
I’m bad okay? I do break the spine sometimes. Not every time I read but this usually happens when I get frustrated because the pages won’t stay put when I’m not holding it..

11. Do you write in your books?
Nope, that I don’t do. I use post-its if I want to write something up, well every time I read actually.

Wow, I just realized how little time I truly have! I mean, I’ve been writing this post for four days and it’s not that long. I need to get better with my time management ๐Ÿ˜€ Anyway, here’s some knowledge about my reading habits, feel free to tell me yours!

  1. I’m totally with you on the skipping pages. sometimes if a book is really good and getting to a serious suspense I can’t help but skip forward to find out what happens and then I’ll go back and pretend that nothing happened – lol. And also if a book is just to “proust” for me, like with those endless descriptions and streams of consciousness that seem to be going nowhere I’ll skip ahead and feel not one ounce of guilt – heheeh ๐Ÿ™‚
Anyway, I loved and agreed with the majority of your answers here. Happy 2018 reading! ๐Ÿ™‚
