TOP 5 TUESDAY : Books That Were A Chore To Get Through

Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Basically every week there’s different topic to list your own top 10, though I do them as top 5.

September 5: Ten Books I Struggled to Get Into But Ended Up Loving or Ten Books That Were A Chore To Get Through or Ten Books I’ve Most Recently Put Down (the theme is…books you had a hard time with…tweak it how ever you need)

Starr Fall by Kim Briggs is being mentioned first because this book was so bad that it nearly throw me into a huge reading slump. I really had to push myself to finish it and ended up rating it with 2,5 stars.

Carve The Mark by Veronica Roth was a book that I had high hopes before getting into it. But after finally finishing it, I’m glad that I found it from our library and didn’t buy it because I would have ended up giving it away anyway. While reading, I was lost, confused and simply just not interested to continue but did that anyway.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber was another book that I was kind of hyped to read. The start of this book until nearly the end was so slow paced and boring that I nearly ended up DNFing. Though the ending saved the whole book and I ended up quite liking it.

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr is the most recently finished book. As you might know, I spent a lot of time reading it. I put it down, didn’t want to pick it up again and when I did, I ended up putting it down again. It was confusing and boring, okay.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. Please put down your stones okay? I struggled to get myself through this book but I didn’t say that I didn’t like it! I just don’t feel it was worth all the hype that there is, not for me. It was a bit boring for me and I was waiting for something more from it. I’m still planning on reading Crooked Kingdom at some point but this wasn’t just as good book for me as it was for everyone else.
