ARC REVIEW : Touched by Death

TITLE: Touched by Death
AUTHOR: T.L. Martin
GENRES: New Adult, Paranormal, Mystery, Romance, Fantasy
PAGES: 362
EXPECTED PUBLICATION: September 1st 2017

What if Death was more tempting than you had ever imagined?

With Grams’s recent passing and a boyfriend who cares more about his next drink than her, Lou Adaire only wants to run. To start over somewhere new — maybe in a town where her family has history.

But when a storm sends Lou’s truck plunging into Tuttle Creek Lake, she discovers exactly what it’s like to fight for your life. To gasp for air only to have your lungs fill with icy water. To die.

What comes next changes everything.

Dark eyes. Consuming presence.

Death. As vague as a dream yet as intense as the lightning flashing above her still heart.
Everything about him calls out to her, tugging at her with the warm vibration of his pull. He’s supposed to take her; they both know it. She wants him to.

When she wakes in the hospital in a new town, she can’t forget what she saw. That impossible sensation of him breathing life back into her, a strong beat playing in her chest and a flutter running down her spine.

Trying to move on with her life in a foreign place is hard enough, but when he comes back for more — his burning touch against her skin, his consuming presence weaving in and out of her life, and his own scars running far deeper than hers — Lou begins to realize there’s more to Death, and to the sleepy Kansas town, than she ever expected to find.

Lou lived. But what if she’s not the only one in need of saving?

*CONTENT WARNING: Contains some profanity, sex, and some child abuse.

His eyes close, and he draws a long breath. When they open again, they’re colder than ever. “And that’s where you’d be disappointed, Lou. There’s no good to be found in Death.”

Okay, so Touched by Death, T.L. Martin. Gosh.. There’s still tears streaming down my cheeks as I write this. First of all, thank you T.L. Martin for this amazing book against for review! I’m still trying to gather my thoughts and go through all my notes even though it’s been a while already since I finished reading.

Lou Adaire has lost all her close relatives, the most recent of those is her Grams. She decides to sell Grams’s house and start from clean plate. But as she’s driving through the storm, her car crashes down into Tuttle Creek Lake where she comes face to face with Death. From there starts her incredible journey at Ashwick, the small town where her mother was born, with Death and some new friends.

I’m sure we all have some kind of an idea about Death in our minds, and for me Death has always been the dark hooded man with his scythe. Never have I ever thought that he might be a dark haired hero kind of a guy, definitely not someone to like, to root for! But that’s exactly Lou’s Death. Dark hair, green eyes and a hero. Someone who wants only the best for her, want her to live full happy life until she dies of old age. And damn, meet my new book boyfriend!♥
Lou and Death, definitely my favorite pair ever. This is the kind of relationship everyone should have. They share some serious true love, they care for each others and they would both die for another.

This book has it all. Happiness, sadness, romance, anger, everything. It’s both heart ripping and joy. Even though it doesn’t all go as planned for Lou and bad things happen, there’s still happy moments which make you tear happy tears and for counterbalance you will be tearing from sadness too. You will get your heart broken but you will also have a happy ending.

I most definitely recommend this book to all of you who likes paranormal books, whom likes romance. The romance in Touched by Death is anything else but easy, love at first sight cheesiness. It takes some time to grow and it will make you too fall in love with Lou and Death.
