First of all, I did not get tagged. I just like doing all kinds of book tags and this sounded very interesting after seeing it on Youtube. This was originally created by ReadLikeWildfire and Earl Grey Books. Also no top 5 Tuesday this week since that readathon post (and I might have also forgotten that), but another one will be up next week! If you haven’t voted yet, you still have time to go and give your vote and even though you have voted, you can go and do that again.
1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2017
This one is probably the easiest to answer, Illuminae without a doubt. This was the second book I finished this year the one I’ve been recommending the most.
2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2017
This tag is starting off strong. I haven’t read any sequel yet at this year, only standalones or prequels.
3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Have had my eye on that one since I first heard about it before it was published. Definitely going to be on my next book haul.
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
Wonder Woman by Leigh Bardugo. I like Bardugo’s writing and I also like Wonder Woman so I’m sure this is worth the wait!
5. Biggest disappointment
I don’t think I’ve had any actual disappointments this year, at least not yet. Though Caraval and Carve the Mark have been some hyped books but for me they both are kind of meh.
6. Biggest surprise
I think I’ll go with Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell on this one. Before Fangirl I had read Landline from Rainbow Rowell and that wasn’t really my cup of tee. So Fangirl really surprised me, I really liked that book which was not what I was expecting honestly when starting it.
7. Favorite new author (Debut or new to you)
This is hard one. I’ve read mostly new authors for me this year and it is hard to pick favorite between them. But I think I’ll go with Kenechi Udogu on this one. I did receive her full series in exchange for an honest review and I must say that I really liked the first book. I’m so glad that I had this change because otherwise I might not have never found her nor read any of her books.
8. Newest fictional crush
There’s really no new fictional crush for me this year. But if I can answer with the newest fictional crush during this and last year, the answer would definitely be Chaol ♥
9. Newest favorite character
Nina and Matthias from Six of Crows! I just really love these two.
10. Book that made you cry
The Forgotten Family of Liverpool, this is one truly heartbreaking book.
11. Book that made you happy
If I Was Your Girl, because I really hope that people would start treating different people like equals, the ending made me really happy.
12. Favorite book to film adaptation you saw this year
I haven’t read this book yet but I liked the movie of Everything Everything
13. Favorite review you’ve written this year
I’m quite happy of my reviews for Illuminae and Caraval so it’s both of those, I guess
14. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, I think this cover is just stunning! Very different from the Finnish version I have and I think it’s much more beautiful than the Finnish version too.
15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
There’s a lot of books that I need to read by the end of the year! You can check my reading challenge, there you can find all the unfinished prompts. But The Hate U Give is really high on my list and I’ll definitely need to read it this year.
